Observatory of International Development Cooperation Thesaurus
DESCRIPCIÓN
About the OCID Thesaurus
The International Observatory for Development Cooperation (OCID) Thesaurus is based on the United Nations, Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Thesaurus. It consists of standardized multilingual vocabulary presented in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
The UNESCO Thesaurus is a standardized and controlled listing of terms used for cross-disciplinary subject analysis. It is issued as an open access thesaurus that is also freely downloadable. The OCID Thesaurus has built on this framework to include thematic parsing and document and publication queries drawn from both national and international databases on International Development Cooperation.
The Thesaurus has 7 major categories, which are in turn broken down into micro-thesauruses. It complies with ISO 25964 Part I and Part II (2011; 2013) and applies topic classification vocabulary checks, starting from the most generic down to the most specific terms. It also supports vocabulary matching between terms and the inclusion of scope references.
It features intuitive navigation and is available for download and viewing in a number of formats. The OCID Thesaurus is also accessible via a SPARQL terminal.
The OCID Thesaurus Framework
The OCID Thesaurus was published as an available SKOS data set conforming to Linked Open Data principles for the sake of improved interoperation. The chosen software framework for the OCID Thesaurus is OpenTheSo, a multilingual, multi-hierarchical thesaurus manager developed by the WST Technology Platform (Semantic Web & Thesauri) hosted by the Maison de l'Orient et de la Méditerranée (MOM) in partnership with GDS-FRANTIQ.
Opentheso features an interface module with Omeka and Wordpress, which were also employed to publish and deliver the UNESCO Thesaurus.
Import format: SKOS, TTL, JsonLD
Export format: SKOS, Turtle, JsonLD, CSV and PDF
