Better Life for All Korea’s New Road to Sustainable Development

The rural development model, Saemaul Undong (New Village Movement), 45 years ago played a critical role in enabling Korea to eradicate poverty. Now we wish to share Korea’s development experience with a world that needs it. Since 70 percent of the world’s extreme poor live in rural areas, rural development will be essential to meet the SDGs. Saemaul Undong provides valuable lessons to achieving the SDGs
