I am pleased to present the Fifty Seven Annual Report on thr development operation of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development for the fiscal year 2018/2019
ending March 31, 2019.
The Fund has pursed its development activities during the fiscal year 2018/2019 and continue its close cooperation with Arab countries and other development nations through extending soft loans, grants and technical assistances with the objective of support their efforts to achieve their development goals and raise the standard of living of their peoples and communities. Since the adoption of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by the international community in September 2015 and start implementation in January 2016, developing countries have begun to incorporate these goals into their national development plans and policies, giving them an international dimension and strengthening the international community's support for these countries. For sustainable development to take a firm course, it must have an environment of successful policies, the rule of law and economic and political stability supported by
security and peace. We would like to reaffirm the Fund's commitment to continue providing assistance to support developing countries to overcome their challenges and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
