Day 09 of September 2025, on Kuala Lumpur.

WHAT: 18th ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labour (AFML), an open multi-stakeholder platform bringing together governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations, civil society and international partners. Theme: “Accelerating Actions Towards SDGs on Safe Migration and Decent Work for Migrant Workers in ASEAN,” with two subthemes:

  • Subtheme 1: Safe and Secure Environments Free from Forced Labour — assessing progress and gaps on SDGs 8.7 and 8.8.
  • Subtheme 2: Reduced Recruitment and Remittance Costs — assessing challenges and progress on SDGs 10.7 and 10.c.
The Forum will adopt recommendations to accelerate achievement of SDGs 8.7, 8.8, 10.7 and 10.c by 2030.

WHO: ASEAN Committee on the Implementation of the Declaration on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers (ACMW), supported by the ILO TRIANGLE in ASEAN programme, with governments, employers, workers, civil society and international organizations.
